Great video. What meter do you use?
thanks for your help but please speak slowly 😅
You have to be a shady sales person in this trade to make a six figure income.
In residential, not heavy commercial
The startup guys around here turn it on and for the hills. That's for all equipment, boilers, chillers, etc. Good times.
Good stuff !!
It is nice when you can run a system fully loaded long enough to tune and adjust it properly.
HVAC Manufacture: “Here’s the unit you ordered.” HVAC Tech: “It’s not working correctly.” HVAC Manufacture: “Sounds right, and it’s your fault.” HVAC Tech: “…”
Great video. Thank you for sharing
Why would you risk voiiding the warranty by messing with the settings? You could have just called back the factory rep to do it for free.
We are the factory rep. Part of commissioning.
Oh ok. You said the factory guy lowered the liquid level to 25%@@HVACTIME
Sorry they recommended setting it to 25% as a default in training. But also state it needs to be calibrated.
On-the-fly tuning doesn't give me all the warm and fuzzy feelings when I'm starting up a chiller. I
There's a lot to tune on these at startup
Shouldnt that be done at the factory?
They teach doing it in the field at startup
Hello sir my Trane compressor Overlord error coming why I m technician what to do
Pray Trane gp2 gods for help
Good
Great video and thank you for sharing your knowledge. Do you teach a course related to building automation for hvac on your website? Thanks in advance.
There is a module in the Introduction to Chillers course dedicated to DDC control systems. Chiller equipment controls are just scaled down BAS systems. I have ideas on doing a dedicated BAS/Controls course at some point but all my focus is on the Introduction course currently
Great video. Thank you for sharing
What’s the resistance range when ohming out the solenoid? I’m troubleshooting a circuit doing the opposite, won’t load up. Help me Batman. ❤
My HVAC teacher called it a ‘No Name Line.’
11:30 also because greater lift requirements for other refrigerants like r134a found in YK 's
Great exercise. More videos like these. 👍
I remember this call. I thank you for the help. It was a fun one
Ok. That would explain the the meter saying Jason. I just watched your video on the trainer board, and I was thinking, that looks just like the meter from JJ`s trainer video. Collaboration is a good thing.
We used to work together at our old company. Fun times
If you sucked the data out of the pco you could put it into 1tool and see how it is cofigured. Just abit of a pain tho
Hi My friend!
Amazing! Thank you for sharing! I work as a controls electrician dealing with BAS equipment! It’s always fascinating to see such old pneumatic HVAC controllers still in action!
Chiller Community & Chiller Training: chilleracademy.com
Do you know where that brand is from ? Cause that electrical panel definitely looks European, that's the typical ones you'll find over here .
No sir
Yes very difficult job,it takes time I did residential and commercial building , it’s been 35 years
I'd be inclined to just get some name brand transducers off the shelf that you have a data sheet for, seems like you've got all the scaling and offsets under control to make any half decent transducer work! What was the actual problem there though? Sounded like... they were having issues, swapped the sensors, still having issues, then went back to the original sensors and settings and it was fine?
Ah ya didn't compeletely explain whole situation. System wasn't commissioned correctly to begin with causing flow issues and alarms from the start. They thought it was sensor problems but got the wrong ones. Once I put the original sensors back I was able to fix the commissioning and tuning so that the pumps VFD would ramp properly to meet flow requirements as load fluctuated.
@@HVACTIME Solid effort as usual, nice one!
Good job troubleshooting video
Great work Batman! I’ve learned to never trust system sensors until they’ve been verified for accuracy. Wild to see how many problems can occur from sensors reading improperly. That plant looked so clean! What kind of equipment were they feeding the chilled water to?
I don't remember what their plant does, maybe plastic molding but I'm guessing.
Thank you very much indeed for such a detailed and informative explanation.
In most areas of this country you will not make over 75,000.00 per year unless you are willing to lie , cheat and steal.
Question: Is it typical for a screw compressor often to have low oil problem? I’ve seen this in McQuay, Dunham Bush and Trane.
In my opinion no, usually not an issue.
Thanks For showing how to work on a Ace chiller
